My Biography

It really seems to me that life owes me no reward.  Since birth I shared both happiness and up-set in my life as anyone else has.   I look back very proud to have had more then my share of good fortune as well as seeing my fondest of dreams come true....

Many photos and articles from my career perished in a fire in 1981, but the memories will never fade!

THE YOUNGSTERS NYC
STEAM

I Loved to Sing!

Encouraged to absorb the arts since birth, my mother's favorite song at the time was Over The Rainbow.... Maybe this is why I followed my dreams no matter how unreal they may seem?

I  grew up wanting to become a singer, but to be in a band you had to also be a musician.  I always loved the guitar, but the demand was for keyboard players in my town.  Playing keys made it easy for me to perform with any local  band I desired. We began at 15 years old.  Every summer performing throughout the Catskill hotel circuit.  Seeing top entertainers created my thirst to perform even more as the years passed. We were a local group who later adapted the styles of bands like Vanilla Fudge to arrange our own  musical arrangements.

This band was slowly drawn one by one into the live commercial touring group STEAM.  Paul Freda dropped out of the music world years ago and Alan Tebaldi continues to perform in Long Island.  Today we miss passed members Tommy Scott and John Faster.
I MISS YOU GUYS!

1973

Gibraltar

This 8 piece "horn" band was lead by Vito Aiello (Singer - Keyboardist)

I had great fun fronting Gibraltar!  Although it contained 8 musicians who sang as well as they played, they had great personalities & showmanship.  There styles seemed to bridge the gap between Blood, Sweat, and Tears & Chicago!
BACKING: The Crystals, and any other oldie acts which were performing the same venues, like The Camelot!.

CRISP

The Odyssey

Our local hangout!

No matter what anyone was doing  we all used to take time to jam at the Odyssey in Whitestone, New York, as all the neighborhood bands used to swap ideas as well as members.  It was also the place where I met Creative Talent Agents,, Rustin and Brenner.
Thanks, John

THE NEWS

This high energy original band you could say followed paths of groups like Deep Purple.  Yes, this is NYC's CBGBs

There were many other groups I am sorry not to mention,
The 1910 Fruitgum Company, Navaho, Michael Zager Band, Charlie Brown's People, The Naturals, JAB, Sunrise, The Cavaliers, The Casinos, Vito and the Salutations, Chubby Checker's Rock Band, The Toys, The Chiffons,

but let's continue the journey!

1977

Copa'cabana with Borealis

I worked for producers of both NBC and ABC TV that year with various projects.  My manager was NORBY WALTERS.  I began touring once again with groups like The 1910 Fruitgum Company and Chubby Checker, and Steam.

1978

WHAMM

This group performed the disco circuit with the  likes of  The Village People, Afro Cuban Band, and Michael Zager Band.  Disco was not an exciting time for me, but music keep me alive!

1980

Freelancing for name acts

GHOSTING for many golden oldie groups of the 50's and 60's. By 1980 I played keys for Chubby Checker, and 1981 I landed a gig fronting The Crests.  The tour took me from New Jersey to half way around the world!
